Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and MOONGLASSES TECHNOLOGY PTE. LTD. ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Singapore, and govern your use of the Dote app, the doteai.chat website and related services (the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, and of legal age in your jurisdiction, to use the Services. By using the Services you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Your account

You may use Dote as a guest. A guest identity is stored on your device; if you delete the app or change devices you may lose access to your conversations. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your device secure. You may delete your account at any time in Settings.

3. AI characters and output

  • All characters in Dote are fictional. They are not real people, and any resemblance to real persons is coincidental.
  • Replies are generated by artificial intelligence. They may be inaccurate, inappropriate or unexpected, and they do not represent our views.
  • Output is for entertainment only and is not professional, medical, legal, financial or psychological advice. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services.

4. Your content

You keep any rights you have in the messages you send ("Input"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, transmit and store your Input and the resulting output as needed to provide, maintain, secure and improve the Services. You are responsible for your Input and confirm you have the rights needed to submit it.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Services to:

  • generate or share content that sexualises minors or depicts child sexual abuse in any form;
  • generate sexually explicit content, or content depicting sexual violence or non-consensual acts;
  • impersonate, harass, threaten, defame or infringe the privacy or intellectual-property rights of real people;
  • promote or provide instructions for violence, terrorism, self-harm, suicide or other dangerous or illegal activity;
  • promote hatred or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or other protected characteristics;
  • commit fraud, spam, or distribute malware;
  • reverse engineer, scrape, automatically extract output from, or interfere with the Services or their security features;
  • violate any applicable law.

We may filter, refuse or remove content and suspend or terminate access for violations. You can report problematic content to dote@doteai.chat.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

Some features may require payment. In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple under the App Store terms. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Prices and paid features may change, with notice where required.

7. Our intellectual property

The Services, including the app, characters, artwork, text and software, are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms and the App Store's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if your use creates risk for us or others. We may change or discontinue all or part of the Services.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES OR OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR USD 50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Services, to the extent permitted by law.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at dote@doteai.chat to try to resolve the dispute informally. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to the courts of Singapore, unless mandatory consumer law in your country gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and notify you in the app of material changes. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
